Prior to earning the rank of Eagle Scout, I realized the great qualities and values that a person could gain from the organization. I enjoy the activities that my troop does such as fun night and the weekly meetings. I also like the information that I have learned related to survival, leadership, and responsibility. Some of this knowledge I have received from scouting is a rarity to find anywhere else in the world. Scouting is enjoyable and informative at the same time. For the 2005 - 2006 year I was appointed the Senior Patrol Leader of the troop and I enjoyed the responsibility and challenges that the position brought. Our troop has over 60 members and sometimes the weekly meetings can become a little challenging, but we make it work and I have a lot of fun. In September of 2005, I earned the rank of Eagle Gold. I went on in the fall of 2006 to earn the rank of Eagle Silver, (the rank of Eagle Bronze, Gold and Silver are for those who want to work beyond the rank of Eagle Scout, and the order is correct, Eagle Silver is the highest, not Eagle Gold). In the final months before my 18th birthday I completed the rank of Eagle double bronze. Upon turning 18 you can only be a leader in Boy Scouts. You can not work on any additional rank advancement. I plan to remain active in my troop as an adult leader.
